Chartered Accountants Focus on Cost Reduction for Local Business (19th October 2010)

Chartered Accountants Ulster Society has run the first of a series of seminars for local business leaders focusing on cost reduction and productivity improvement.

In times of financial austerity and tightening budgets all businesses are seeking to save costs and improve their output. Over 50 local businesses signed up to the seminar which outlined strategies to improve profitability and competitiveness.

Speakers at the event included Brian Turbitt, Director of Expense Reduction Analysts, Ireland and John McClune of Invest Northern Ireland’s Productivity Improvement Team.

Jeremy Fitch, Convenor of the Ulster Society’s Chartered Accountants in Business Group said: “This is a challenging time for local business. We hope that by running this series of seminars we can provide decision makers within the Northern Ireland business sector with strategies and organisational action plans which will ultimately improve competitiveness and help their businesses to come out of these economic difficulties stronger and fitter.”
