Chartered Accoutants Ireland launches Elevation Programme 2010 (15th June 2010)
Chartered Accountants Ireland has launched the second year of its ‘Elevation Programme’, a new entry route to the profession for experienced professionals.
In its first year in 2009, 10% of the Institute’s intake of new Chartered Accountancy students came from the Elevation Programme, and the Institute is confident that it will attract even more graduates with some years spent in the workplace. Last year, there was considerable interest from candidates from Ulster and Chartered Accountants Ireland is confident that many people will enrol for either its Belfast-based course or the new online lecture programme.
The new mature route is aimed at graduates (including graduates from the Accounting Technicians Ireland). To be eligible to enrol on this route the student will have to have worked for at least four years prior to registration.
The Elevation Programme is based on a mix of evening and weekend engagement, across the academic year (Sept – June). The flexibility that the new Elevation Programme introduces recognises the different life circumstances and challenges that experienced graduates have, and provides them with a greater ownership of their own studies.
A new departure for this year’s Elevation Programme will be the use of internet-based lectures. This innovative move allows students to watch on-demand sessions 24x7 from anywhere in the world with an internet connection. The ability to play, pause and rewind lectures allows students to reinforce their learning at any stage and adapt a study timetable to meet their needs.
Online lectures are fully integrated with face-to-face classes which will take place approximately once a month. These sessions provide additional guidance for material covered online and reinforce learning through exam-style questions.
A free information evening about the Elevation Programme will take place on Thursday 24th June at 6.30pm at Chartered Accountants Ireland, 32-38 Linenhall Street, Belfast. More information on any aspect of the Programme is available at www.elevationprogramme.net
